Chinese historian Sima Tan in the chronicle "Historical notes" made the Kyrgyz known as one of tribes among five other tribes who struggled with the Hunnu. Then in other Chinese notes Han-shu (History of Han) in the 1st century BC  people of Kyrgyzstan were described by historian Ban Gu. The territory of the state was based in the east from modern Kyrgyzstan.

Turkic Era (500-1200). The Turkic Era was in power in 500-1200. During the 6th-13th centuries there was a mean of migration of people of a Turkic language speaking. They were going from the Altai Mountains to the Central Asian region. Empire of people of Kyrgyzstan was created in 9-10th centuries that stretched from the river Irtysh in the west to the Big Khingan range in the east, from the Angara and Selenga Rivers in the north to the Gobi Desert in the south. The Mongol Rule (1200-1400). The period of 1200-1400 is known as Mongol Rule and is considered to be the most sad and tragic period in the history of Kyrgyzstan. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan you will be told that this is a period of Mongol invasion of the Genghis Khan. He destroyed the developed Turkic culture and made people to go under his powers in 1207. In 12-15th centuries people of Kyrgyzstan  were adopting Islam as a religion of Persian, Arab, and Turkic traders going along the Great Silk Road. But they failed to do that and they only managed to create a system of two wings. These states were independent ones.

Russian Colonization (1770-1917). The other important period in the history of Kyrgyzstan is Russian Colonization of 1770-1917. This is a period of Kyrgyzstan undergoing the process of going under the powers of the Russian Empire. The process was started by northern states of Kyrgyzstan who sent the one to proclaim a desire to be protected from inner tribes and from outer threats in face of China, Kokand and Kazakhs. The north of Kyrgyzstan joined Russia, but the south didn't have a desire to do that. New territories got new administrative systems and the beginning of agricultural economy.

But during the period it was extremely prohibited to believe in God, to have something actually to believe in that led to Atheization, Collectivization and Cultural Revolution. These processes became a trigger of innocent people being killed.

Independent Kyrgyzstan (since 1991). The period started from 1991 is known as Independent Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan became a single state after collapse of the Soviet Union.
